WELLS WITH ROCK SAMPLES --
Wells with Rock Samples, 2010
Shows the locations of all known wells from which rock samples have been obtained and are stored in the archives of the Indiana Geological Survey. Such rock samples include well cuttings, cores, and chip samples derived from cores. Attributes of the shapefile include a unique identification number of each well, and the depths (in feet) of the tops and the bottoms of the sampled intervals.
After obtaining the unique identification number of a well of interest, the user can then obtain more detailed information about the well by visiting the online Petroleum Database Management System of the Indiana Geological Survey. Actual cores and chip samples can be viewed and examined by visitors to the Core Library of the Indiana Geological Survey, Bloomington, Indiana.
